In the Tea Pavilion area of Xuancheng, Anhui Province, located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, explorers drilled deep underground and uncovered a huge potential porphyry copper gold deposit, setting a remarkable record for domestic mineral exploration operations.

Overview of mineral deposit
The main ore body of Chating Copper Gold Mine is about 1.2 kilometers long and 1.1 kilometers wide. The deep ore body has not been fully exposed, and the potential resources of copper and gold have reached the scale of large-scale ore deposits. There is still room for reserves to increase. This deposit is a rare porphyry copper gold deposit in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Over 70 boreholes were completed in 4 months, with the deepest exploration hole exceeding 2000 meters. After the completion of the project, it can supply the smelting and processing industry in East China nearby, alleviate the shortage of copper and gold resources in the region, reduce dependence on overseas imports, and empower the development of the new energy industry. Collaborative research and development
This major discovery relies on the joint efforts of central and local enterprises, while breaking the traditional geological theory understanding overseas and opening up a new path for mineral exploration in the eastern volcanic rock coverage area. This achievement serves as a landmark mineral exploration achievement during the 15th Five Year Plan period and also provides a tea pavilion model reference for subsequent exploration of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River metallogenic belt.Editor/Min Jing
