Rwandan Health Minister Sabine Nsanzimana delivered a speech at the handover ceremony, stating that the renovated and expanded Masaka Hospital is not only the largest hospital in Rwanda, but also among the top in the region. This project is a symbol of friendship and partnership between China and Lu. Its successful completion and handover marks an important milestone in the medical and health cooperation between China and Lu. We look forward to expanding and deepening the medical and health cooperation between China and Lu on this basis.

Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda Gao Wenqi stated that Masaka Hospital is a witness and witness to the friendship between China and Rwanda. As early as 2011, the Masaka Hospital, which was built with Chinese aid, was officially put into use. The successful completion of this renovation and expansion project has enabled the brand new Masaka Hospital to achieve a comprehensive and historic transformation and leap in both software and hardware. Looking towards the future, China is willing to work hand in hand with the Lu side, focusing on building a joint medical center, deepening talent cultivation projects, and strengthening technological synergy and empowerment to deepen practical cooperation in three major areas, and jointly promote high-quality development of the healthcare industry.

China and Rwanda maintain long-term close cooperation in the field of healthcare. Since 1982, China has sent 26 batches of medical personnel to Rwanda to provide medical assistance, conducting daily diagnosis and treatment at Masaka Hospital and Basic Go Hospital.
