On the industrial corridor of the Balkan Peninsula, a new production base for Chinese lithium battery manufacturing has officially landed.

On August 31, 2026, the Serbian government, the Ingia municipal government, and RELIANCE signed a project framework agreement, and the high-performance battery cell manufacturing factory will be located locally, marking the global layout of domestic non-polar cylindrical battery manufacturers and officially entering a new cycle of manufacturing localization from the product output stage.

Dual line production capacity both domestically and internationally has been implemented

The first phase of the project plans to invest over 100 million euros, approximately 780 million yuan. Leveraging Serbia's location advantage at the crossroads of Europe, the new factory will significantly shorten the delivery cycle of battery cell products to European customers after completion, and meet the fast delivery needs of high-end tracks such as low altitude economy and humanoid robots.

Just two weeks before the signing of this overseas project, on August 17th, RELIANCE's second winding assembly line at its headquarters in Changzhou, Jiangsu was officially put into mass production. This production line only took more than 40 days from equipment entry to final evaluation, setting a new record for the landing speed of similar production lines in the industry and further consolidating the manufacturing capability of the infinite ear cylindrical battery cells. It has laid a solid production capacity foundation for the steady increase of subsequent production capacity and stable delivery of domestic and foreign orders. Based on the import data of European energy storage and high-end power battery cells in the first half of 2026, localized production can shorten product delivery cycles by more than 60% compared to domestic shipments, while also adapting to the zero tariff policy dividend under the China Serbia Free Trade Agreement.

Covering multiple types of high value-added tracks

RELIANCE is headquartered in Changzhou, Jiangsu, focusing on the research and production of high-energy and high rate non-polar ear cylindrical batteries. The company's independently developed 5.0Ah ultra-high power 21700 battery has achieved global mass production and batch shipment by March 2025. At the 2026 European Battery Exhibition, the 6.0Ah non-polar ear cylindrical battery cells RS60 and RH60 made their global debut, with plans to start mass production within the year.
