Under the scorching sun in northwest Cambodia, a Chinese medical team set up a temporary clinic, and as the silver needles rose and fell, the furrowed brows of the local people gradually relaxed. From the capital hospital to remote rural areas, traditional Chinese medicine is crossing mountains and seas, delivering health to the places where it is most needed.

Recently, the fifth batch of aid to Cambodia's traditional Chinese medicine medical team conducted its first large-scale overseas free clinic tour of traditional Chinese medicine at the grassroots level after arriving in Sweije County, Banteay Meanchey Province.

Free clinics benefit the public

Banteay Meanchey Province is located in the northwest of Cambodia, with weak primary healthcare conditions, making it difficult for a large number of chronic disease patients to seek medical treatment nearby. This free clinic attracted more than 600 people to come for treatment. The medical team gave full play to the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, carried out acupuncture and moxibustion and massage diagnosis and treatment, distributed traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations free of charge, and popularized knowledge of drug use and acupoint health care skills. Many people have experienced traditional Chinese medicine for the first time and have truly felt its therapeutic effects, and have praised it one after another.

This free clinic not only relieves the suffering of the masses, but also explores the real health needs of the local area. Prak Wali, vice governor of Banteay Meanchey Province, was present to experience acupuncture and moxibustion, and the pain in the knee joint was significantly relieved. He spoke highly of traditional Chinese medicine. Le Songwa, Director of the Provincial Health Department, expressed gratitude to the medical team for sending doctors to rural areas and looked forward to deepening medical cooperation to benefit more people. Looking ahead to future work

The aid to Cambodia Traditional Chinese Medicine project is an important carrier of China Cambodia health cooperation, and multiple medical teams have been conducting long-term patrols in the local area. This is the first landing of grassroots services by the fifth batch of medical teams.
