On September 8, 2026, the key tunnel of the Yunnan Central Water Diversion Project, the Haidong Tunnel, was successfully completed, with a total length of over 25 kilometers, overcoming multiple challenges such as complex geology and high-risk disasters. So far, the first phase of the Yunnan Central Water Diversion Project has connected more than 630 kilometers. The Yunnan Central Water Diversion Project will be constructed in stages. After the completion of the entire line, the annual average water diversion volume will reach 3.4 billion cubic meters, benefiting more than 11 million people along the route.
