Recently, exciting news came from the construction site of Zala Hydropower Station in the deep Hengduan Mountains in southeast Xizang. The 1100 ton bridge crane built by Taizhong lifted the core component of the world's largest impact hydroelectric unit, the 840 ton rotor, smoothly and accurately into place. CCTV provided a key report on this lifting operation. This is the first time that the bridge crane of a domestic hydropower station has successfully operated at an altitude of 3000 meters. The operation and maintenance personnel of Taizhong ensure the lifting of equipment throughout the entire process, from major rivers to snowy plateaus. Taizhong equipment has once again achieved a historic breakthrough.

840 ton rotor accurately positioned
The Zhala Hydropower Station is a national backbone project for the transmission of electricity from Tibet, with two 500 MW impulse type units installed, making it the world's largest single unit capacity equipment of the same type. The 1100 ton overhead crane undertook the difficult lifting task and smoothly and accurately lifted the 840 ton rotor into place. This is the first time that the bridge crane of a domestic hydropower station has successfully operated at an altitude of 3000 meters. The Taizhong Bridge Crane has a history of more than 70 years, from the first 50 ton crane in New China to the world's largest 1300 ton crane, focusing on major national strategic needs every time. From the Three Gorges Hydropower Station to the four giant cascade hydropower stations of Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, and Xiangjiaba in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, and now to the Zhala Hydropower Station, Taizhong has closely followed the pace of national energy strategy development, stepping from the great river to the snowy plateau and continuously achieving breakthroughs.
One stop, one strategy to overcome the plateau challenge
Zhala Hydropower Station is located in Hengduan Mountains in southeast Xizang. How to transport the crane is the first problem. For the first time, Taizhong adopted a multi-stage structural design on a thousand ton bridge crane, which was disassembled for transportation and assembled on site, successfully solving the bottleneck of high-altitude transportation. To ensure the stable operation of the equipment in high-altitude environments, each weld seam has undergone strength testing and successfully passed the overload test. The team further optimized the electrical structure to adapt to special working conditions such as high-altitude low oxygen and low temperature, allowing Taizhong Manufacturing to operate smoothly on the roof of the world. We don't rely on a single move for heavy equipment, but rather adhere to a one stop, one strategy approach. We have customized a complete equipment transportation and installation plan for the special geographical conditions of the Zhala Hydropower Station. All four cranes are too heavy to build
In addition to this thousand ton bridge crane, the other three bridge cranes used in the entire Zhala hydropower project are also all from Taizhong. From upstream to downstream, from water diversion to power generation, this major national project will involve heavy equipment throughout the entire process. They will provide stronger quality assurance for the installation and maintenance of the units, and continuously contribute to the smooth operation of the Zhala hydropower station. Spread out the map of China's hydropower industry, a green energy network supported by heavy equipment has gradually unfolded. From the Three Gorges to the Jinsha River, from Baihetan to Zhala, heavy cranes have always accompanied China's hydropower industry along the way. This network is still extending higher and farther, continuing to light up the lights of thousands of households.Editor/Gao Xue
