The Central African Republic has long lacked railway trunk lines, and its abundant mineral resources are difficult to transport inland. This 1350 kilometer long heavy-duty railway has received critical funding, with a financing of 6 billion US dollars in place. The project will connect the Central African mining area with the Kribi deepwater port in Cameroon, and the blueprint for the Atlantic shipping channel will gradually be implemented. Chinese enterprises such as CR6G will join the construction camp.

Open up the sea route

This 1350 kilometer Central African Cameroon heavy-duty railway connects the mineral rich areas of Central Africa with the Kribi deep-water port, filling the railway gap in the Central African Republic. The initial freight capacity of the route is 250000 tons per day, which can be increased to 300000 tons per day in the long term. The project will not only ensure the export of iron ore, but also drive employment and trade between the two countries, promote industrial and agricultural development, and unleash regional economic potential.

Unlock the giant iron ore deposit

The project's supporting mining area has over 20 billion tons of resource potential, mainly consisting of high-grade iron ore, while also containing strategic resources such as rare metal copper. The project is led by A&S Resources in the UK, and relevant agreements for mining railway logistics have been signed in the early stage. At present, the feasibility study is progressing in an orderly manner, and terrain survey and technical research work have been launched. Keywords: Cross border infrastructure, iron ore development

Multi party joint construction project

A&S Resources collaborates with Trans African Railways and CR6G to develop this mining railway. The funds will be provided by the Export Import Bank of India, and the project will officially commence after the detailed engineering design and financing matters are fully implemented. The landing of this cross-border railway will significantly improve the export conditions of inland resources in Central Africa and help transform the value of regional resources.Editor/Min Jing
