The machine roars and the drilling rig rotates. On September 8, 2026, the construction site in Dongma Community, Dazehu Street, Wangcheng District, Changsha City was busy. With the smooth drilling of CFG piles at construction site 6, the construction of the first section of the Hunan section of the Changgan High speed Railway, which was undertaken by China Railway Bridge Bureau, officially began. The construction of the first roadbed construction site in Hunan section began, and the roar of the machine also played the prelude to the accelerated construction of this cross provincial high-speed railway.

Clear overview of the construction site and construction foundation

The 6th construction site of this project is the first landing roadbed project of the Hunan section of the station front 1 section. There are a total of 9 roadbeds within the scope of the station front 1 section, with a length of about 1338.5 meters, accounting for 6.2%. The total length of the construction site is 174.995 meters, connected to the S101 Provincial Road Extra Large Bridge in the front and the Changsha Xiangjiang Railway Extra Large Bridge in the back. Within the construction site, there are 795 CFG piles with a diameter of 0.5 meters and a total length of 5234 meters. The top width of the roadbed is 13.4 meters, and the filling height is controlled between 2 and 5 meters. The construction site is located in the middle of two large bridges, and the quality of the project construction will directly link the progress of the bridge construction before and after, which is a fundamental link that cannot be ignored throughout the entire line.

Breakthrough in nodes promotes the construction of the entire line

The first roadbed construction site has started smoothly, marking the entry of the Hunan section of the Changsha Jiangxi high-speed railway into the comprehensive construction stage. During the previous project promotion process, all parties involved in the construction completed discussions on the land transfer plan, made preparations for geological surveys, equipment entry, personnel deployment, and other preliminary tasks, achieving seamless connection between land delivery and main construction operations. With the commencement of the construction site, multiple road base points will be laid out in an orderly manner according to the construction plan, synchronized with other sub projects such as bridges, laying a solid foundation for the steady progress of the entire Hunan section project.

Channel formation benefits Hunan and Jiangxi provinces

The Changgan High speed Railway is planned to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of July 2030. As an important part of the national medium - and long-term railway network plan, the project will connect Changsha to Ganzhou as a high-speed passenger artery. After the opening of the line, the travel time from Changsha to Ganzhou will be reduced from the current about 4 hours to 1.5 hours, significantly reducing the travel time for people in both places.
