On September 12, 2026, the third Kathmandu Dialogue was held in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with the theme of "China Nepal Relations: Expanding Cooperation Space". Former Nepalese Prime Minister Karnal, Nepalese Foreign Minister Shisir, and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming attended the opening ceremony of the dialogue and delivered speeches.

Zhang Maoming stated that in the face of the massive mudslide and flood disaster on August 26th, China and Nepal have stood by each other and worked together to overcome difficulties. In the face of natural disasters and other challenges, China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Nigeria in disaster prevention and mitigation, post disaster reconstruction, inter party exchanges and other aspects, constantly close high-level exchanges, jointly build the the Belt and Road in high quality, expand practical cooperation in various fields, and work together to build a community of shared future between China and Nigeria.
Kanal and Hisir thanked China for its valuable assistance to Nepal and emphasized that Nepal will continue to firmly adhere to the One China principle, continuously deepen bilateral relations based on mutual trust and friendship, expand cooperation in various fields, and jointly address the challenges of climate change.
