From September 14 to 16, 2026, Liu Junfeng, Deputy Director of the National Agency for International Development Cooperation, led a working group to visit Laos to pay a visit to Sandipa Fongweihan, the former Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Laos China Cooperation Committee, and jointly hosted the third China Laos Development Cooperation Mechanism Meeting with Shandan Sayason, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Laos China Cooperation Committee, to exchange in-depth views on implementing the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, promoting the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", implementing the four major global initiatives, and deepening bilateral development cooperation.

During the visit, Deputy Director Liu Junfeng and his delegation also conducted on-site inspections of some aid projects for the elderly.
