In September 2026, the construction of a new gold beneficiation plant for the Regorodok gold mine officially began in the Brabai District of Akmola Oblast, Kazakhstan. Zijin Gold International, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining, will invest over 600 million US dollars here and plan to build a new beneficiation plant with an annual processing capacity of 10 million tons of ore. According to the information released by Kazakhstan State Investment Corporation on September 7, 2026, the new beneficiation plant is expected to add approximately 7 tons of high-quality gold production per year, and the annual output of the entire project is expected to reach more than 12 tons after full production. This is not only a factory construction project, but also a comprehensive industrial project centered around a large-scale mining production system.

Construction of a million ton beneficiation plant begins
The core construction content of the project is a new gold beneficiation plant with an annual processing capacity of 10 million tons of ore. The project is not only about the selection plant itself, but also involves the simultaneous construction of power supply facilities, water supply facilities, tailings facilities, transportation and logistics infrastructure, etc. That is to say, this is actually a comprehensive industrial project centered around a large-scale mining production system. The project has a direct investment scale of over 600 million US dollars and is located at the Regorodok gold mine in Brabai District, Akmola Oblast, Kazakhstan.

Significant increase in mining and selection capabilities
After the completion of the project, the overall mining and beneficiation capacity of the Regorodoc gold mine is expected to increase to 16 million tons per year, achieving significant expansion on the basis of the existing production system. Zijin has already completed the internal approval and feasibility study work for the new project. Information disclosed in the first half of 2026 shows that the new 10 million ton annual expansion project is underway, and after completion, the ore processing capacity will increase from the current approximately 6 million tons per year to 16 million tons per year. The new selection plant is expected to increase its annual production of about 7 tons of synthetic gold. After the entire project reaches full capacity, the annual output is expected to reach more than 12 tons, and the production capacity is expected to double. New sample for upgrading mining processing
In terms of project scale, the expansion of the Regorodok gold mine is one of the leading investment projects in Kazakhstan's mining industry in recent years. After the completion of the project, it will significantly enhance Kazakhstan's gold processing capacity, drive local employment and related industry development. According to information released by Kazakhstan State Investment Corporation, the direct investment scale of this project exceeds 600 million US dollars, which is an important symbol of Kazakhstan's mining processing upgrade. With the new beneficiation plant put into operation, the Regorodok gold mine will become one of the large gold production bases in Kazakhstan, injecting new momentum into the local mining economy.Editor/Gao Xue
