Next to the photovoltaic power station in Titu town, Romania, brand new liquid cooled energy storage containers are neatly arranged in a row. The autumn sun in Southern Europe in September falls on blue photovoltaic panels, and the electricity generated can not only be directly sent to the power grid, but the surplus can also be stably stored in the adjacent energy warehouse. This is a new green buffer zone jointly built by Enexus and Longi for the local power grid.

From photovoltaic modules to photovoltaic storage synergy

This cooperation is the second time that both parties have held hands. Previously, Enexus' projects had deployed over 200MW of Longi high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, and now the cooperation has directly extended to the 50MWh liquid cooled energy storage field, marking the upgrade of the cooperation from single module supply to the co construction of integrated photovoltaic storage systems for the power grid.

Two sets of energy storage units have been implemented in two independent projects in Titu Town. The Titu 1 project is equipped with 20MWp photovoltaic and 15MWh energy storage, and is currently fully completed and awaiting grid connection; The Titu 3 project, which includes 35MWp photovoltaic and 35MWh energy storage, is currently under intense construction. Both systems adopt a uniform temperature liquid cooling design, combined with a pre assembled medium pressure Skid system, which can significantly reduce the cost of power station auxiliary engineering and shorten the on-site commissioning cycle.

Anchoring regional energy transformation goals

This project happens to hit a critical juncture in Romania's energy transition. According to the latest revised national energy and climate plan, 5.8GW of ground mounted photovoltaics and 2.5GW of rooftop distributed photovoltaics will be built nationwide by 2030. By the first half of 2026, the newly installed photovoltaic capacity in the local area has reached 1.8GW, far exceeding the previous planned progress. The consumption pressure brought by the high proportion of photovoltaic grid connection continues to rise, and energy storage has shifted from optional configuration to essential support.

This integrated solution breaks away from the traditional model of multi supplier equipment splicing and integrates photovoltaic power generation and energy storage control into a unified software and hardware system. It not only reduces the technical risks of system integration, but also accumulates first-hand operational data for the grid connection testing of subsequent large capacity energy storage projects in the local area. The project integrates Romania's local EPC development capabilities, cross-border capital investment advantages, and China's full industry chain technology for photovoltaic storage, providing a new demonstration sample for the efficient implementation of new energy projects in Southeast Europe.
