With the acceleration of renewable energy transformation in Europe, photovoltaic energy storage in Central and Eastern Europe has entered the stage of large-scale construction. Romania continues to build a stable and efficient modern power system through policy and technology introduction.

On September 16, 2026, Enexus, a Romanian EPC service provider, reached a cooperation agreement with China's Longi. Both parties will deploy 10 sets of Longi liquid cooled energy storage systems with a total capacity of 50MWh in Titu Town, Dengbovica County, Romania. This is an extension of the 200MW photovoltaic module cooperation in 2025, which has expanded to the field of large-scale ground energy storage.
Dual site implementation of project layout
The 50MWh liquid cooled energy storage system is divided into 10 units and will be used for two photovoltaic storage projects in Titu Town. Titu 1 project: 20MWp photovoltaic with 15MWh energy storage, developed by Enexus in cooperation with Akis Enerji of Türkiye, has been completed and is ready for grid connection. Titu 3 project: 35MWp photovoltaic with 35MWh energy storage. Türkiye FTZ Group participated in the development, and the project is under construction. The project adopts the Longi liquid cooled energy storage solution, with software and hardware collaboration to smooth out fluctuations in photovoltaic output and provide peak shaving and power balance support for the power grid.

Clear energy planning objectives
The implementation of energy storage projects is in line with Romania's national energy transition route. The new version of the National Energy and Climate Plan proposes a target of approximately 5.8GW of ground mounted photovoltaic capacity and no less than 2.5GW of distributed rooftop photovoltaic capacity by 2030. Enexus' business covers multiple countries, and Longi has a complete photovoltaic energy storage industry chain. The cooperation between the two parties can alleviate the pressure of photovoltaic grid integration and consumption, and help Romania's energy transformation.

Demonstration effect empowers industries
The 50MWh energy storage project has multiple industry demonstration values. The penetration rate of photovoltaics has increased, and single photovoltaics are difficult to solve the problem of consumption. Longi provides a complete set of optical storage solutions to reduce equipment docking risks and provide standardized references for large-scale power stations in the region.
The project integrates Romanian EPC capability, Türkiye capital and Chinese energy storage technology. Joint development by multinational enterprises to optimize regional allocation of new energy resources and accelerate project implementation. Romania's previous new energy projects had a relatively low energy storage ratio. The implementation of this liquid cooled energy storage project enhances the grid's ability to absorb new energy and accumulates practical data for subsequent energy storage projects. The installed capacity of new energy in Romania and Southeast Europe continues to grow, and energy storage is the key to ensuring the stable operation of the power grid. The cooperation between Enexus and LONGi demonstrates the practical path of promoting regional energy transformation through global industrial chain synergy.Editor/Gong Ziwei
