On September 16, 2026, the western section of the Malaysia East Coast Railway project completed a speed increase test of 176 kilometers per hour. Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing boarded the inspection train to comfort the test personnel and verify the operation status of the equipment. He affirmed the project inspection work and was accompanied by relevant Malaysian officials and project teams throughout the process.

Previously, the eastern section of the Ma Dong Railway had achieved the same testing speed on August 29th, and thus the first phase of the project has completed the highest testing level of 110% of the design speed, fully verifying the safety and reliability of the line and train equipment. At present, the testing work of the east and west sections of the project is progressing synchronously, and will enter the stage of fault free operation testing in the future, laying a solid foundation for the formal delivery of the project.Editor/Min Jing
