A cross Asia Europe corridor is bringing the destinies of two neighboring countries closer together. From the Beijing venue to the project site, cooperation is no longer just words in documents, but a moment of freight trains, steel mill furnaces, and handshake. The visit of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan is like a beam of light shining on the new version of China Kazakhstan cooperation.

Bilateral talks for cooperation

Nurrabek Nalibaev, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, conducted a working visit to Beijing and met with Ding Xuexiang, the Vice Premier of the State Council, for the first time. Ding Xuexiang also serves as the co chairman of the Kazakhstan China Cooperation Committee. Both sides will explore expanding economic and trade exchanges, investment cooperation, cooperation in agriculture and high-tech industries, promotion of local cooperation, and issues related to cross-border rivers. In addition, participants also exchanged views on the operation of the Kazakhstan China Cooperation Committee and other bilateral cooperation areas.

Nalibaev was invited by the Vice Premier of the State Council to China to attend the Global Sustainable Transport Forum. At the opening ceremony of the forum, he introduced the key development areas of Kazakhstan's transportation industry and internationally significant infrastructure projects. The first vice premier also mentioned that the freight volume between Kazakhstan and China continues to rise, and there is an opportunity for both sides to expand cooperation in the field of transportation and logistics. This forum brings together approximately one thousand representatives from government departments, international organizations, diplomatic institutions, experts, and the business community.

Traffic Forum Smooth Passage

At another meeting on the international transportation route across the Caspian Sea, Nalibaev spoke together with Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Shohrat Zakir, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafa, and Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Kyrgyzstan, Erlist Akhunbakov. The meeting pointed out that the role of the trans Caspian international transportation route in international cargo transportation continues to increase, and this channel can serve as a transportation corridor connecting China and Europe.

  On behalf of Kazakhstan President Kassem Jomart Tokayev, Nalibayev awarded this national medal in recognition of his contributions to the development of Kazakhstan China relations and economic and trade cooperation. Xi Guohua said that this honor is the result of the joint efforts of the business circles of the two countries. He also talked about the role played by enterprises in implementing the agreements reached between Kazakhstan and China and promoting investment cooperation.

Enterprise project implementation promotion

During the visit, Nalibaev met with Zhang Bingnan, President of China Communications Construction Corporation, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CITIC Group. Both sides exchanged views on the attractiveness of China's investment in Kazakhstan, the landing of joint investment and infrastructure projects, as well as opportunities for cooperation in new tracks. China's Fujian Hengwang Investment Plan plans to invest 1.2 billion US dollars to build a metallurgical plant in the Zhanbei area. The project can produce up to 3 million tons of steel annually and is expected to be put into operation in stages from 2027 to 2029.
