The tide of the Caribbean Sea beats against the harbor, and large structures stand quietly, as if waiting for a deep sea awakening. From the headquarters in Paris to the coast of Suriname, an energy artery is quietly pulsing. When the hands of multinational giants and the host country's president clenched again, the industrial heartbeat of this small South American country had such a clear rhythm for the first time.
Senior officials visit Suriname
With the arrival of large-scale production equipment and components at the Kurdipsin Port facility, French energy company Total Energy held talks with Surinamese government officials to discuss the progress of the multi billion dollar deepwater oil project in the 58 offshore areas of Suriname. It was confirmed that the offshore development project will be implemented as planned, with the goal of achieving the first oil production by 2028.

Recently, Patrick Puyane, Chairman and CEO of Total Energy, visited Suriname accompanied by Nikola Traz, President of Exploration and Production Business, and Javier Lello, Senior Vice President of Exploration and Production for the Americas region. This visit reflects the senior management of the energy company's emphasis and investment in the development of the 58 district Granmorgu project.

During the visit, Puyane met with Suriname's President Jennifer Gillins Simmons and Suriname's National Oil Company Director Annan Jagsar. The focus of this trip is on-site inspection of the port, which undertakes a large number of logistics tasks for the project. Large equipment and materials required for the production system are stored here.
The project is steadily advancing
Suriname National Oil Company stated that this batch of equipment will be installed on the seabed for crude oil extraction in the future. All parties attending the meeting listened to the latest progress report of the Granmorgu project. As Suriname's first offshore oil and gas development project, the engineering construction is progressing in an orderly manner, and the first oil production target for 2028 remains unchanged. Total Energy's partners are Suriname National Oil Company and APA Company.

The construction of floating production storage and unloading oil tankers, the manufacturing of core components of offshore facilities, and the preparation for drilling production wells are all proceeding according to plan. Total Energy has selected SBM Offshore and Technip Energy to undertake the floating production, storage, and offloading oil tanker project related to the Granmorgu project. Previously, the company commissioned Scottish ADC Energy to conduct drilling platform selection and extract recoverable oil and gas reserves at depths of 100 to 1000 meters; Meanwhile, Saipan Company has secured a $1.9 billion engineering contract.
