On September 27, 2026, at the edge of the Ruoqiang Desert in Xinjiang, on the top of a nearly 100 meter high boiler steel frame, a giant slab beam slowly rose and stabilized in place under the joint traction of an 800 ton crawler crane and an 80 ton tower crane. With the completion of the first large beam hoisting, the main construction of the steel frame for the No.1 boiler of the CTG Xinjiang Ruoqiang New Energy Base coal-fired power project has entered the final stage, and the key framework of the Southern Xinjiang Energy Base has been finalized.

High altitude first lift successful

Boiler No.1 has 6 sets of 12 large plate beams, with the heaviest one weighing approximately 128.7 tons, all located at the top of a steel frame nearly 100 meters high. The large plate beam is the core load-bearing component of the boiler, carrying key equipment such as heating surfaces and smoke and air systems. The lifting components this time are heavy, positioned high, and difficult. The site uses an 800 ton crawler crane and an 80 ton tower crane for coordinated operation, which requires extremely high coordination and precise control of large machinery. The project team prepares a special construction plan in advance, demonstrating each item from transportation route, component inspection, lifting process to safety control, and implementing full process control to ensure a successful lifting operation. Multi line parallel acceleration

The coal-fired power project of the Ruoqiang New Energy Base in Xinjiang is a core component of the fourth channel power supply project for Xinjiang's power transmission, and also an important support for the first 10 million kilowatt level Shagehuang wind, solar and thermal storage transmission base project in southern Xinjiang. The project is equipped with six 660 MW ultra supercritical coal-fired power units, with a total installed capacity of 3.96 million kilowatts. Environmental protection facilities such as flue gas desulfurization and denitrification are also being constructed simultaneously. It is the first six unit one control thermal power project in China. After all the large plate beams are in place, the installation of the boiler heating surface and ancillary equipment will be fully spread out. At present, the construction of key areas such as the main factory building, boilers, chimneys, intercooling towers, and coal yards is being carried out simultaneously at multiple points, and the project team is anchoring annual goals to focus on tackling them.Editor/Min Jing
