In September, on the Baicheng grassland, old fans and newly built solar thermal absorption towers face each other across the air. In the past, the saline alkali wasteland, now wind, light, heat, and storage are working together to light up the high-altitude areas and witness the solid steps of Northeast China's green transformation.

Technological breakthroughs in high-altitude regions
High latitude, frozen soil, and saline alkali - the natural conditions of Baicheng were once obstacles to the development of new energy. The completion of the Jixi Thermal Power Station has provided the answer with independent technology throughout the entire process, including low-temperature frost resistant pile foundation, asymmetric mirror field, molten salt thermal storage, etc. Each breakthrough is proving that not only can solar thermal energy be developed in high-altitude areas, but also replicable complete solutions can be developed.

Install stabilizers on green electricity
The charm of solar thermal power generation lies in its ability to store energy. 20000 tons of molten salt to store daytime heat and generate electricity continuously at night; Excess wind and solar power is converted into thermal energy storage through electric heating, with an electric thermal conversion efficiency of 98.5%. The Jixi Power Station relies on the Lugu DC power transmission to Shandong, enabling the green electricity in Baicheng to span thousands of miles and be stable and controllable.

Activate an industry with one project
From creating over 2000 local jobs, to driving collaboration among hundreds of upstream and downstream enterprises, to the localization of core equipment such as the Yuanyao No.1 collector, the Jixi project is not just a power station, but also an incubator for the industrial chain. State owned enterprises take projects as the fulcrum to leverage the industrial ecology of equipment manufacturing, intelligent operation and maintenance to take root in Northeast China. Keywords: CGN, green power transmission, energy
From a wind turbine to a solar thermal+integrated base, Baicheng has been in operation for nearly 20 years. The significance of the Jixi project lies in proving that constraints can be turned into advantages, and wastelands can be turned into hot soil. At the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan, this beam of light from saline alkali land shines upon more possibilities for green transformation in Northeast China.Editor/Gong Ziwei
