As the pioneer of the road, the excavation area has accumulated experience for the large-scale construction of the main project of the Three Gorges Water Transport New Channel through various equipment and key technology verifications, while providing a channel for the Three Gorges external transmission lines. The completion of excavation means that the circuit relocation work has entered a new stage.

After the completion of the preliminary excavation area, the construction work of the staff shifted from pile driving and tower erection to the deployment of grounding wires and the transfer of loads between new and old channels. That is to say, they had to "move" the transmission lines from the Three Gorges to the sky above the preliminary excavation area one by one at a height of 100 meters.

Dong Nenglon, the on-site construction manager of the excavation area of State Grid Hubei Ultra High Voltage Company, said, "The laying out is the most risky and complex link in our entire construction process. Once it falls off at a height of 100 meters, the consequences are unimaginable. Therefore, we adopt a construction method of replacing the traction rope from small to large until the grounding wire can be dragged.
