On October 20, 2026, in Abu Dhabi, while global tech giants were still competing on the parameters and reasoning capabilities of big language models, this Gulf city turned its attention to another path of artificial intelligence. Abu Dhabi Technology Group G42 and its subsidiary Analog have announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with Advanced Machine Intelligence, co founded by Turing Award winner Yann LeCun. The two sides will collaborate on world models, advanced AI infrastructure, sovereign clouds, and industrial applications to explore the implementation path of next-generation artificial intelligence technology in real industries.

World Model Cooperation Signing
Yann LeCun is a representative figure in the field of deep learning, who has served as Meta's Chief AI Scientist and is also one of the important critics of the current development path of large language models. He believes that language models that rely on predicting the next word to learn can generate fluent text, but they are difficult to fully understand the physical environment, predict the consequences of actions, and complete real-world tasks that require long-term planning. The world model he promotes attempts to enable AI to learn environmental operating rules from video, space, and other real-world information. For example, an industrial robot not only needs to recognize objects before moving them, but also needs to determine their position, movement mode, and the possible results of different operations. The world model hopes to give the machine similar environmental understanding and prediction capabilities. In March 2026, AMI Labs completed a seed round financing of $1.03 billion, with a pre investment valuation of $3.5 billion. The investors included Cathay Innovation, Greycroft, Bezos Expeditions under Bezos, as well as institutions such as Nvidia and Temasek. This Paris based AI startup is led by Alexandre LeBrun as CEO.

Three party division of labor and collaborative implementation
According to the cooperation plan, AMI Labs is responsible for providing research capabilities related to world models, G42 provides computing power, cloud infrastructure, and technical deployment support, and Analog explores how to introduce research results into real-world scenarios. G42 has been continuously building data centers, cloud computing, and AI infrastructure in recent years, with business covering healthcare, energy, government services, and industrial sectors. Its subsidiary Analog focuses on physical intelligence, attempting to use digital twins, spatial data, and artificial intelligence to help businesses understand and manage real-world environments. Analog founder Alex Kipman was involved in the development of Microsoft Kinect and HoloLens, and is a well-known figure in the fields of computer vision and mixed reality. If progress is made in cooperation, future application opportunities can be sought in fields such as industrial equipment operation prediction, robot autonomous operation, urban facility management, and complex system simulation. Abu Dhabi Frontier Layout
This cooperation continues the deepening AI connection between the UAE and France. In February 2025, the two countries officially promoted strategic cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. In May of the same year, G42 established a strategic partnership with French modeling company Mistral AI and also operated an AI data center in Grenoble, France. From big language models to world models, from computing infrastructure to industrial scenarios, France is becoming an important partner for Abu Dhabi to expand European AI technology cooperation. At present, G42, Analog, and AMI Labs have signed a non binding memorandum of understanding, and the scope of cooperation, commercial terms, and implementation arrangements need to be determined through subsequent agreements. Abu Dhabi has invested significant resources in the AI field over the past few years, attempting to establish its position through computing power, capital, and industrial applications. This contact with LeCun's world modeling team reflects its technological layout extending towards more cutting-edge research directions.Editor/Gao Xue
