The 5th batch of Chinese aid to Cambodia Traditional Chinese Medicine Medical Team (China Cambodia Traditional Chinese Medicine Center) will go to the China Cambodia Friendship Hospital in T é b é nkment Province on October 30, 2026 to carry out large-scale traditional Chinese medicine free consultation and inspection services. This is the first time that the Chinese medical team assisting Cambodia has entered the province of T é b é nkment to carry out free medical consultations.

When the medical team arrived, people from the provinces of Tebunkmon and Kampong Cham had already formed long queues in the waiting area. Tebenkemon Province has recently suffered from floods. In his speech, Keo Vannak, the Director of the Health Department of the province, thanked the Chinese government for its concern for the affected people and also thanked the Chinese medical team for coming all the way to bring health and friendship to the villagers.

On that day, the most common types of patients were neck, shoulder, waist, and leg pain, degenerative joint disease, and chronic strain injury. The local climate is humid and hot, and many people engage in physical labor. This type of pain is often prolonged and cannot be systematically treated. The medical team follows the principle of "treating based on syndrome differentiation and adapting to individual needs", mainly using acupuncture and massage, combined with external application of plaster, and supplemented with labor protection education. Many patients who are new to traditional Chinese medicine experience relief after treatment.

At the site of the free clinic activity, the medical team inquired about the disaster and recovery situation of the affected people's homes, arranged timely diagnosis and treatment for chronic pain patients who were delayed in treatment due to the disaster, carefully reminded them of the protection and rehabilitation measures after working in water, and explained to the waiting people about drinking water hygiene and mosquito prevention and epidemic prevention knowledge after floods.

79 year old patient Mot Huon underwent surgical treatment for a right calf injury over 10 years ago and has been experiencing long-term pain since then. The medical team treated him with acupuncture and moxibustion on the same day and sent him a plaster for external use. In addition to receiving treatment, the medical team also carried out on-site teaching, demonstrated the key points of acupuncture and moxibustion point selection and operation to Cambodian medical staff, and sowed the seeds of traditional Chinese medicine on this land.

This free clinic provided free traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment to over 400 people, and the China Cambodia Friendship Hospital in T é b é nkment Province presented thank-you letters to the medical team members. The captain of the medical team, Chen Honglin, said that the free clinics have traveled through one province after another, and the trust of local people in traditional Chinese medicine has been continuously accumulated and deepened through repeated contact. "Although silver needles are thin, what they pierce is the therapeutic effect, and what connects them is the hearts of the people.

This trip to Tebenkemon adds another stop to the series of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Overseas Visits to Grassroots" free clinic tours for the 5th batch of Chinese medical teams assisting Cambodia. It also marks the further expansion of the coverage of free clinic tours by medical teams, which is of great significance for promoting the sinking of traditional Chinese medicine services to grassroots, promoting the overseas dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine, deepening China Cambodia health cooperation, and enhancing people to people exchanges between the two countries.

Previously, Chinese medical teams have visited several provinces in Cambodia, including Banteay Meanchey, Prey Veng, and Bodhisattva, extending their footprints from the Cambodian Thai border to the Mekong River.Editor/Gong Ziwei
