On November 4, 2026, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the 11th Foreign Ministers' Meeting on Lancang Mekong Cooperation in Beijing.

Wang Yi said that the six countries of Lancang Mekong share the same river water and their destinies are closely linked. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the first Lancang Mekong Cooperation Leaders' Meeting. Over the past decade, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the six countries, the Lancang Mekong Cooperation has moved from a construction period of building frameworks and expanding fields to a deep cultivation period of strengthening mechanisms and emphasizing practical results, becoming the most dynamic and promising golden model of regional cooperation.

Wang Yi stated that the construction of the bilateral community of shared future between China and the five Mekong countries has deepened and become more practical, and the foundation of the community of shared future among the Lancang Mekong countries has become more solid. The trade volume between the two sides has exceeded 500 billion US dollars, an increase of 150% compared to 10 years ago, accounting for about half of China's trade volume with ASEAN. The economic development belt in the Lancang Mekong River Basin has been effectively implemented, with deep promotion of infrastructure hard connectivity, steady expansion of rules, standards, and soft connectivity, and remarkable achievements in the construction of innovative corridors. The efficient implementation of the Ping An Lancang Mekong Action has effectively cracked down on cross-border online gambling and fraud crimes. The Lancang Mekong Cooperation Special Fund supports over 1000 development projects in various countries, and the Lancang Mekong visa provides convenience for people to people exchanges among the six countries.

Wang Yi pointed out that ten years of hard work and ten years of harvest. The Lancang Mekong Cooperation has grown vigorously, thanks to the six countries' original intention of maintaining good neighborly friendship and sharing a common destiny, adhering to the direction of focusing on development and pragmatic cooperation, adhering to the concept of benefiting the people, openness and inclusiveness, and the courage of innovation driven and pioneering. In the face of multiple challenges in the current international region, the Lancang Mekong family must think together and work together to promote Lancang Mekong cooperation to a new level, join hands to open a new "golden decade" of Lancang Mekong cooperation, and make broad strides towards a peaceful, peaceful, prosperous, beautiful, and friendly Lancang Mekong homeland, contributing Lancang Mekong strength to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
