On November 30, 2020, the first phase of Hefei Rail Transit Line 7 and the first phase of Line 8 officially started construction, one month earlier than expected.

The first phase of line 7

The first phase of the line 7 project starts at Songlin Road Station at the intersection of Fanhua Avenue and Yunwai Road, and is laid along Fanhua Avenue, Shixin Road, Jinxiu Avenue, Huizhou Avenue and Ziyun Road, and ends at Ziyun Road and Tianjin Road. At the intersection of Tianjin Road Station, the line is about 18.80 kilometers long, all of which are underground. The project has 16 stations, all of which are underground.

Advance section of the first phase of Line 8

The leading section of the first phase of Line 8 starts at Yilijing Station at the intersection of Linquan Road and North Fuyang Road, is laid along Fuyang North Road, Qinghe Road, and Mengcheng North Road, and ends at Hetang Road at the intersection of Hetang Road and Mengcheng North Road Station, the line is about 7.3 kilometers in length, all of which are underground lines. There are 5 stations including Yilijing Station, Lingbi Road Station, Yaoyuan Road Station, Qinghe Road Station and Hetang Road Station, all of which are underground stations.

One month in advance, all started

On September 29, 2020, the east extension of Line 2 and the south extension of Line 3 started, and the construction of the third phase of the construction project kicked off. Only 187 days have passed since the National Development and Reform Commission approved the third phase of the project on March 26, setting the fastest pace in the history of Hefei track development.

On the evening of October 31, 2020, the southern extension of Line 4 and the first phase of Line 6 officially started. On the morning of November 30, the first phase of line 7 and the first phase of line 8 started construction. Since then, the third phase of the construction planning project has started in three batches, and all of them are one month ahead of schedule.

After the completion of these rail transit projects in Hefei, it will bring convenience for residents in the urban area to transfer, thereby greatly improving the quality of Hefei's transportation, improving residents' travel conditions, and further enhancing the scope of economic radiation.
