What do you say, carbon dioxide can be used as an industrial raw material? A plant dedicated to carbon dioxide was built in Jubail, Saudi Arabia's industrial city, which is the current global carbon dioxide capture and treatment plant.

It is reported that the plant belongs to Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). The carbon dioxide in the plant mainly comes from the upstream ethylene glycol plant, and carbon dioxide is an important by-product of the plant's ethylene glycol production process.

The integrated downstream pipeline of the plant is about 25 kilometers. The purified carbon dioxide passes through the pipeline and is transported to the downstream urea and methanol plants. Finally, products such as methanol and urea are formed. The remaining carbon dioxide can become food-grade edible carbon dioxide. It is widely used in drinks such as cola and beer.

According to SABIC, the annual global greenhouse gas emissions of Riyadh's global headquarters are about 44,000 tons, and the carbon dioxide recycled by the plant each year neutralizes some of the gas emissions, basically achieving the goal of carbon neutrality at the global headquarters. (Please refer to www.seetao.com for reprinting) Seetao strategy editor / Zhang Xianglong
