On April 28, 2023, the construction of the first phase of Shijiazhuang Rail Transit Line 6 and the third phase of Line 1 officially started, which marks the start of construction of the second phase of Shijiazhuang Rail Transit. According to the planning plan, the first phase of Line 6 and the third phase of Line 1 are expected to be put into operation in 2027.
Phase I project of Line 6
According to reports, the total construction scale of the second phase of Shijiazhuang's rail transit planning is 58.85 kilometers, mainly including the first phase of Line 4, 5, and 6 and the third phase of Line 1. The lines are all underground, mainly covering Qiaoxi, Yuhua, Xinhua, Chang'an, Luquan, Luancheng and other districts. The first phase of Line 4 and Line 5 has started construction on December 30, 2022.


The first phase of Shijiazhuang Rail Transit Line 6 starts from Ershilipu Station and ends at Dongzuo Road Station. It is laid along Huaizhong Road-Yuhua East Road-Kunlun Street, with a total length of about 12.75 kilometers and 9 stations. There are 2 interchange stations, interchange with the existing Line 1 at Liucun Station, and transfer with the existing Line 3 at Nandou Station. The first-phase project of Line 6 effectively fills the vacancy of rail transit in the southeast area of Shishi, guides the expansion of the central urban area from a single center to multiple centers, promotes the evacuation of passenger flow, and is conducive to the realization of the overall urban planning layout.
Phase III Project of Line 1
The third phase project of Shijiazhuang Rail Transit Line 1 is the west extension of the first phase of Line 1. Line 1 is the east-west backbone line of the central urban area, and it is also the main line connecting the old city area with the eastern industrial area and the Zhengding area. The third phase project of Line 1 starts from Huaian Road Station in the west and ends at Xiwang Station in the first phase project in the east. It is laid along Shangzhuang Street and Zhongshan West Road. The total length of the line is 3.77 kilometers. There are 2 stations, all of which are underground stations. Passing through Luquan District and Qiaoxi District, it mainly connects the residential areas along Shangzhuang Avenue and the residential areas along Zhongshan West Road and other passenger flow collection and distribution points in series. As an important part of Line 1, the third-phase project of Rail Transit Line 1 is mainly responsible for the passenger transport exchange between Luquan Shangzhuang area and the central urban area, and speeds up the rapid connection between the central urban area and Luquan District. After completion, it will realize the "half-hour" economic circle between the central urban area and the Shangzhuang area, and play an obvious group-pull effect.


Next, the first phase of Line 6 and the third phase of Line 1 will implement preliminary work such as traffic relief, pipeline relocation, and greening migration as soon as possible, and quickly enter the construction stage of the main structure of the station. The next few years will be a critical period for Shijiazhuang's rail transit to speed up. The construction of the second phase of the Shijiazhuang Metro will closely follow the pulse of the times and continue to seek innovation. In terms of design ideas, based on reality, it is moderately advanced, and realizes the application of new technologies and equipment such as cloud platforms, 5G integrated bearing platforms, signal intelligent dispatching, and station integrated management and control.
