On April 10th, Ambassador Meh Pan yong, the head of the Vietnamese delegation to Geneva, held a working meeting with the Asia Pacific Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization on April 9th. The two sides had in-depth discussions and exchanges on future cooperation matters.

Ambassador Mei Panyong pointed out during the meeting that the Vietnamese government has always placed the protection and application of intellectual property in an important position. Especially against the backdrop of Vietnam's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting green development, the widespread application of new technologies is seen as a key way to achieve this goal. To this end, Ambassador Mei promised that the Vietnamese delegation in Geneva would further deepen cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization, and hoped that WIPO could continue to provide strong support for Vietnam's various activities in the field of intellectual property.

In response, Andrew Michael Ang, Director of the WIPO Asia Pacific Bureau, stated that WIPO has always regarded Vietnam as an important partner and highly recognizes the significant progress Vietnam has made in technological innovation and supporting women's leadership in small and medium-sized enterprises. He specifically mentioned exemplary cases of successful application of intellectual property rights by Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises in commercial activities. These cases are not only impressive, but have also been shared by WIPO on its official website, aiming to motivate and help enterprises enhance their brand image, smoothly enter target markets, and further expand their export scale.

At the meeting, the WIPO Asia Pacific Bureau conducted a comprehensive review of recent cooperation with Vietnam. These collaborative measures include the establishment of an intellectual property training college in Vietnam, aimed at enhancing the professional skills and knowledge literacy of experts, business professionals, and civil servants in the field of intellectual property. In addition, WIPO actively supports Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises and startups to join its online network, providing them with broader resources and platforms. At the same time, incorporating intellectual property related content into the training programs of young diplomats and trade negotiators to cultivate more professional talents with intellectual property awareness and abilities.
