China is hosting the 6th Global Certified Operators Conference for the first time, and the highest level global event in the AEO field will be grandly held in Shenzhen from May 8th to 10th.

At the regular press conference of the General Administration of Customs on April 23, Director Lin Jiantian announced important news on behalf of the General Administration of Customs. He provided a detailed introduction to the AEO system, which is a certification system actively promoted by the World Customs Organization. The main goal of this system is to provide a series of preferential and convenient measures to enterprises that perform well in terms of credit status, compliance with laws, and security level.

Lin Jiantian stated that as the highest credit rating enterprise of the customs, AEO enterprises can enjoy a series of preferential management measures such as priority processing, reduced supervision frequency, and optimized services, effectively reducing international trade costs and enhancing international competitiveness.

In recent years, the General Administration of Customs has spared no effort in promoting the international mutual recognition process of AEO, actively increasing the efforts of AEO enterprise certification and cultivation. So far, China has successfully signed AEO mutual recognition agreements with 26 economies including Singapore and the European Union, covering a total of 52 countries worldwide. China ranks first in the world in terms of the number of mutual recognition agreements signed and the number of countries recognized.

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs on the same day, as of the end of March 2024, there were 5860 AEO enterprises in China, accounting for 1.19% of the total number of import and export enterprises and 36.31% of the total import and export volume, playing a positive role in China's open economy. Keywords: the Belt and Road, the Belt and Road News, the Belt and Road Project.

Director Lin Jiantian introduced that the Global AEO Conference is a biennial event that has been successfully hosted by South Korea, Spain, Mexico, Uganda, and the United Arab Emirates for five sessions since 2012. The core agenda of these conferences is to promote AEO international mutual recognition and cooperation, as well as to promote global trade security and facilitation. The 2024 conference is themed around leveraging the advantages of the AEO system to promote inclusive and sustainable global trade, aiming to explore and tap into the enormous potential of the AEO system in global trade. Currently, over 400 foreign guests have completed the registration process for the conference. (This article is from the official website of Jiandao: www.seetao. com.
