As the backbone of promoting the green development of the autonomous region, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power is actively engaged in biodiversity protection, comprehensively and systematically promotes the construction of ecological civilization, and strives to achieve harmonious symbiosis of production, life and ecology.

The company is well versed in the characteristics of Xinjiang's power grid, constantly explores the path of coordinated development of ecology and economy, adheres to the principle of "protecting while developing, and developing while protecting", and strives to build a new power grid that coexists harmoniously with the ecological environment.

During the construction of Yili, Bozhou, Wusu and Phoenix II 750 kV power transmission and transformation projects, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power paid special attention to the ecological protection of Mengma La Forest Park. Snow Ridge spruce is the main tree species in this forest park, and its economic, ecological and social values are very significant.

In order to ensure the harmonious coexistence of power grid construction and snow-capped spruce trees, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power has adopted a series of innovative measures. Through high-tech means, line detours and increasing tower heights, the felling of more than 2,800 spruce trees was successfully reduced. During the construction process, the company adhered to the concept of green construction and minimized damage to the ground by limiting vehicle driving paths and placing square logs and brown mats under the tower. At the same time, the use of large-scale equipment is reduced, and ecological disturbance is further reduced by manually forming towers and increasing stall spacing.

After the project was completed, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power did not stop. They developed a personalized green plant restoration plan for each tower, achieving the reconstruction of a small environment on a single foundation. In addition, the company also used methods such as laying meadows and sowing grass seeds to restore the damaged ground. In areas with severe desertification, grass grid construction has been added to effectively prevent soil erosion.

State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power has maintained an excellent result of 100% environmental impact assessment rate for newly started power grid construction projects for 11 consecutive years, fully demonstrating its determination and effectiveness in ecological and environmental protection. This achievement not only ensures the harmonious development of Xinjiang's power grid and the ecological environment, but also provides valuable experience and reference for power grid construction in other parts of my country.Editor/Cheng Ting
