In this vast land, Hebei Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm has become an important part of the Three Norths Project with its unique contribution. In recent years, the forest farm has provided strong support for the smart management of Saihanba forest resources by introducing new technologies.

Recently, the Beimandian branch of Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm adopted a new afforestation strategy. Workers began to plant larch under birch forests. This innovative afforestation method aims to build a more stable forest structure and improve the forest's resistance to diseases and pests. This move not only enriches the diversity of tree species in the forest farm, but also helps maintain ecological balance and enhance the resilience of the ecosystem.

With the continuous growth of the number of trees in the forest farm, forest fire prevention work is also facing increasingly severe challenges. In order to meet this challenge, Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm has established a set of forest and grassland fire early warning monitoring system integrating sky, air and ground. This system uses satellite remote sensing, drone cruises and ground patrols to achieve real-time monitoring and rapid response to forest fires.

It is worth mentioning that in 2024, the forest and grassland fire prevention work in Saihanba will also usher in a revolutionary innovation-digital twin technology. By building a digital model that corresponds to the physical forest farm in the cloud, this technology can replace manual work to complete a large number of tedious environmental analysis and hidden danger investigations. This not only improves work efficiency, but also ensures the safety of the 27 power transmission and distribution lines that pass through the forest farm.

At present, the forest coverage rate of Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm has reached 82%, becoming a model of ecological restoration in the Three Norths. In the future, the forest farm plans to further increase the forest coverage rate to 86% by 2030.
