Shenzhen News Network, September 30, 2025 (Shenzhen Special Zone News reporter Dai Xiaorong) Xiamen Shenzhen Railway Guangdong Co., Ltd. has announced the winning bid for the construction of the new Shenzhen Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone Railway Luohu North Station and related projects. The reporter learned from the bidding announcement that the construction of Luohu North Station project started on September 30 and is expected to be completed on November 30, 2027, with an investment of about 2.343 billion yuan.
Luohu North Station is located in the central urban area of Luohu District. It is an underground station with 4 arrival and departure tracks (including the main line) and 2 side platforms. The route runs from east to west along Qingshui River Second Road, crossing Qingshui River Fifth, Fourth, and Third Roads, with a total length of about 600 meters and a width of 23.6 to 43 meters. According to the introduction, the main structure of the station is divided into three underground areas: the main station building with a total length of about 470 meters in the middle, the large mileage throat area with a length of 130 meters on the west side, and the east side adjacent to the existing Line 14/17 Luohu North Subway Station (underground three story station). The high-speed railway station passes through the subway station on the negative fourth floor; The ancillary works include the 13th entrance and two car ramps. The project is undertaken by China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd., with a planned construction period of 792 days.

The Shenzhen Shantou Railway is an important project in the infrastructure interconnection plan of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and also an important component of the "Five Railways and Five Highs" external transportation of the Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone. The route starts from Shenzhen hub Xili Station, passes through Nanshan District, Longhua District, Futian District, Luohu District, Longgang District, Pingshan District of Shenzhen, Daya Bay, Huiyang, and Huidong in Huizhou City, and ends at Shenshan Station in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, connecting four major transportation hubs: Shenzhen Xili Station, Luohu North Station, Shenzhen Pingshan Station, and Shenshan Station. The railway has a total length of 125.5 kilometers, including approximately 52.5 kilometers in the urban area of Shenzhen, 56.1 kilometers in the Huizhou section, and approximately 16.9 kilometers in the Shenzhen Shantou special cooperation section.

After the completion of the railway, departing from Shenzhen, it will take 1 hour to reach the Guangdong East City Cluster, 2 hours to reach the Haixi City Cluster, and 5 hours to reach the Yangtze River Delta City Cluster via the Shenzhen Shantou High speed Railway. The travel time from Shenzhen to the Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone will be shortened from the current 47 minutes to 30 minutes. As the main artery of the Shenzhen metropolitan area, the Shenzhen Shantou Railway directly connects the central urban area of Shenzhen with the Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone. It plays an important role in accelerating the construction of coastal high-speed railways, optimizing the external railway channels of Shenzhen hub, and promoting the construction of the Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone.Editor/Bian Wenjun
