Recently, the remaining section of the access road and the parallel section of the belt conveyor for the Yellow River Guxian Water Conservancy Hub, which was constructed by China Railway Fifth Bureau, officially started construction. The project is located in the tribal area and the machines have entered the site.

This is not an ordinary entry route.

11.3 kilometers, 90% of which are bridges and tunnels

The data is very hard. The total length of the access road is 5.7 kilometers, and the parallel belt conveyor route is 5.6 kilometers, totaling 11.3 kilometers. Along the route, there will be 9 tunnels and 13 bridges, with a bridge to tunnel ratio of up to 91%. In other words, for every 100 meters of progress, 91 meters are either in the cave or on the bridge.

The engineering volume may not seem large, but the difficulty is extremely high. The construction sites are extensive and scattered, with the farthest working face spacing exceeding 3 kilometers; The structural form covers tunnels, bridges, roadbeds, and conveyor corridors, with technical standards spanning multiple disciplines; The safety risk points are densely distributed, and high-altitude operations, blasting construction, and large-scale machinery operation intersect; The process connection is compact, with multiple parallel lines for civil engineering, installation, and commissioning.

The four characteristics can be summarized in one sentence: this is a hard bone.

Since winning the bid, the project department has quickly organized entry with the support of Huanghe Guxian Company, and personnel, equipment, and plans have been synchronized in place. At present, the first batch of personnel entering the site has exceeded 120, and large equipment such as excavators and drilling rigs have arrived one after another. The construction of temporary camps and mixing stations is progressing synchronously, laying the foundation for comprehensive construction.

The Heart of Yellow River Water and Sand Regulation

The Yellow River Guxian Water Conservancy Hub has a significant weight.

It is one of the seven key control projects determined in the important planning of the Yellow River, and also the core project of the entire Yellow River water and sediment regulation system. The dam site is located between Jixian County in Shanxi Province and Yichuan County in Shaanxi Province, which controls 62% of the total sediment content and 92% of the coarse sediment content of the Yellow River.

The development task is clear: flood control and sediment reduction are the main business, water resource regulation and storage are the core, taking into account water supply, irrigation and power generation, while creating conditions for downstream water replenishment and increasing water outside the river channel. After the completion of the project, it will be jointly operated with Xiaolangdi Reservoir, forming a "double insurance" for flood control and sediment reduction in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, directly related to the safety of millions of people in the Yellow River Basin.
