Recently, at a signing ceremony in Cairo, Egypt, the Egyptian Aluminum Company exchanged cooperation agreement texts with the Tok Group. The expansion blueprint of the Naghamadi electrolytic aluminum plant has been launched, marking the largest capital investment in the history of Egypt's aluminum industry.

900 million US dollars to expand production of electrolytic aluminum
The initial total investment of the project is 900 million US dollars, approximately 6.1 billion yuan. The core content is to build a new electrolytic aluminum plant with an annual production capacity of about 300000 tons and a supporting anode plant with an annual production capacity of 150000 tons. After completion, the production of aluminum products by Egypt Aluminum will almost double, greatly enhancing its global market competitiveness. Tok Group is deeply involved in multiple roles, serving as both a minority equity investor and debt provider, as well as a long-term partner for purchasing and raw material supply, covering the entire chain from funding to sales.
New project company coordinates construction and operation
Metallurgical Industry Holding Company and Egyptian Aluminum Industry have simultaneously signed a term sheet, specifying that both parties will jointly hold a newly established project company. As the exclusive entity for expanding production facilities, the company is responsible for the full process management from construction, production to subsequent daily operations. Egypt's Fuad Investment Bank will serve as the exclusive financial advisor for the project, providing professional consulting services throughout the entire process for equity and debt financing, ensuring a smooth funding chain. Zero landfill of red mud rewrites the environmental ledger
This expansion will simultaneously introduce advanced red mud treatment technology to convert bauxite residue into building materials, achieving the goal of zero landfill. The traditional electrolytic aluminum industry has long faced environmental pressure from the disposal of red mud, and this technological breakthrough will clear environmental constraints for the expansion of Egyptian aluminum production capacity. From investment scale to technological roadmap to full cycle operation mode, Naghamadi's new factory is becoming a reference sample for green upgrading of the aluminum industry in Central and Northeast Africa.Editor/Gao Xue
