On June 26, 2026, Changhong Energy received two consecutive approvals from the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Mianyang City. Its subsidiary Changhong Sanjie Malaysia's high rate lithium battery production line project was officially approved for promotion, along with a targeted issuance plan of no more than 903 million yuan. This is Changhong Energy's second key production capacity pawn in Southeast Asia after the Thai factory was put into operation last year.

The total investment for this Malaysian project does not exceed 564.6 million ringgit. One new 18650 and 21700 series high rate lithium battery automation production lines will be built, with a total annual production capacity of 170 million new battery cells after reaching capacity, including 85 million of each type of battery cell. The construction funds of 803 million yuan for the project will be allocated from the private placement fundraising, and the remaining amount will be supplemented by the enterprise's own or self raised funds.

900 million yuan private placement landed simultaneously

This targeted issuance is aimed at no more than 35 qualified investors as stipulated by the Beijing Stock Exchange, with no more than 45 million shares issued. In addition to the 803 million yuan occupied by the Malaysian lithium battery project, the remaining funds raised will supplement the company's daily operating working capital. As a lithium and alkali battery dual track enterprise listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange, Changhong Energy's fundraising this time directly targets overseas production capacity construction, without diversifying into non core businesses.

Previously, Changhong Energy had already established five manufacturing bases covering Mianyang, Jiaxing, Taixing, Shenzhen, and Huarong in China. The domestic production capacity layout of high rate lithium batteries has been basically filled, and going abroad is the logical next step.

Southeast Asia dual base formation

In December 2025, Changhong Energy's Thailand factory has just officially started production in Chumphon Province, Eastern Economic Corridor. Five high-end alkaline battery intelligent production lines have already started localized production of the entire range of alkaline battery products. After the landing of the Malaysian lithium battery project, Changhong Energy has formed a dual category overseas production layout of alkali and lithium batteries in Southeast Asia. Keywords: new energy projects, battery projects

No longer need to ship by long-distance sea from China, localized production can directly reach downstream customers in Southeast Asia, Europe and America, and also avoid trade tariff barriers in some regions. The overseas delivery cycle and cost of high rate lithium batteries will be significantly optimized. As a well-established high-tech enterprise deeply involved in the field of small power batteries, this global layout has just stepped into the industry window of Southeast Asian lithium battery capacity transfer.Editor/Cheng Liting
