The desert project has attracted three major central enterprises to compete on the same stage, and the four connections and one leveling section with a total price of only 128 million yuan has attracted industry attention. This 15th Five Year Plan Shage Wilderness Outward Delivery Base, with a total investment of over 60 billion yuan, is a benchmark for integrated wind, solar, thermal and energy storage. Winning the early stage of the project is equivalent to seizing the opportunity for project construction, and all parties are striving to obtain entry qualifications.

Breakthrough in the first round

Huaneng North Kubuqi supporting coal-fired power four connections and one leveling section is publicly announced. China Chemical Fourth Construction ranks first with a quotation of 128.5 million yuan, followed by China Power Construction Hebei Engineering and China Energy Construction Tianjin Power Construction in second and third place respectively. The three quotations were not sorted by low price, highlighting the complex bidding rules for large-scale energy projects. The traditional power construction market has long been dominated by China Electric Power Construction and China Energy Construction. This breakthrough by China Chemical breaks through the inherent industry pattern.

Empowering the Base

The project is the first approved Shagehuang external transmission base in the 15th Five Year Plan period, with multiple generator units planned to be paired with millions of level wind and solar energy storage, and a coal-fired power investment of 10.88 billion yuan.

Relying on 1823.4 kilometers of ultra-high voltage transmission lines, over 40 billion kilowatt hours of electricity are delivered to Shanghai annually, with new energy accounting for more than half of the total. The project will be approved in March and the first bid will be announced in July. The main sections of wind and solar energy storage and coal-fired power will be tendered gradually, and there are still variables in industry competition.  Editor/Min Jing
