The WOLONG Weijun 200 MW/1200 MWh grid side independent energy storage demonstration project, built by WOLONG, was successfully connected to the grid on July 7th!

The project is located in Mingshanao Township, Tumote Right Banner, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, covering an area of about 160 acres. It is suitable for the Mongolian Xisha Desert scene and equipped with a 6-hour long-term energy storage system. It is the core landing project of our company's integrated layout of wind solar hydrogen storage in Mengxi.
The entire project adopts WOLONG's self-developed network type liquid cooled energy storage system, equipped with 30 6.67MW PCS boosting integrated machines and 240 sets of 5.015MWh high-capacity liquid cooled prefabricated cabins. The core software and hardware of the entire chain are independently controllable.

Relying on the three-level collaborative network architecture of EMS+cooperative control+PCS, it can smooth out power grid fluctuations in milliseconds, with black start and short-term overload support capabilities, equivalent to the regulation performance of medium-sized thermal power units, and solve the pain points of insufficient inertia and high peak shaving pressure of high proportion new energy grid connection in Mengxi.
On the technical level, a 314Ah high-capacity liquid cooled battery cell is selected, which increases energy by 35%, reduces land occupation by 43%, and lowers overall costs by 26% compared to traditional solutions; AI precise temperature control, full cabin wind and sand protection adapted to extreme Gobi climate, and a three-level linkage perfluorohexane fire protection system to build a comprehensive safety defense line.
The project is equipped with a newly built 220kV booster station, with a grid connected architecture that facilitates operation and maintenance expansion. After being put into operation, it will deeply participate in power grid peak shaving, frequency regulation, and emergency support, greatly improving green power consumption and delaying power grid expansion. It will create a demonstration model for energy storage construction in high-altitude northern regions and help promote local green energy development.

In the future, WOLONG will take this project as a model, continue to deeply cultivate the Mengxi market, iterate network construction and liquid cooling core technologies, implement more comprehensive energy projects, and inject green momentum into the construction of Mengxi's new power system with hard core technology.Editor/Cheng Liting
