On July 16, 2026, in the Yalong River Basin of Sichuan Province, on the large screen of the dispatch center of Guotou Group Yalong River Company, satellite cloud images, hydrological data of the basin, wind turbine speed, and photovoltaic panel power generation curves were updated in real-time. As the staff pressed the start button, China's first integrated smart operation model for water, wind, and solar power was officially released. This super brain, which gathers data from 38 hydroelectric units, over 200 wind turbines, and more than 10000 photovoltaic inverters, integrates weather forecasting, incoming water prediction, wind and solar power estimation, and power dispatch decision-making, giving the 10 million kilowatt level clean energy base a smart center.

Extended forecast cycle to 60 days
The traditional model can only accurately predict the incoming water in the watershed for a period of more than ten days, while the new large-scale model extends this period to 60 days. The accuracy of hourly forecasts has improved by about 5% in the first 10 days, and the accuracy of medium and long-term daily forecasts from 11 to 60 days has synchronously improved. The response speed of meteorological forecasts has jumped from hourly to minute levels. Behind this is the integration and training of massive data from satellite remote sensing, ground meteorological stations, hydrological stations, and new energy field sensing equipment, as well as specialized optimization of complex high-altitude scenes.

High altitude rock caves support computing power
The computing power of the large model comes from China's first high-altitude cave style intelligent computing center, built in the tunnel of the Lianghekou hydropower station at an altitude of over 2700 meters. The average temperature here is only 11 ℃ throughout the year, and the use of natural air conditioning greatly reduces cooling energy consumption. Compared to traditional computer rooms, it saves about 1.8 million kWh of electricity annually and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 1 million tons. The intelligent computing center uses 100% water, wind, solar, and green electricity, forming a two-way empowerment model of green electricity supply and computing power optimization for green electricity scheduling. Full category electric power big model is gaining momentum
The Yalong River model is not an isolated case. In the field of thermal power, the National Energy Group's Qingyuan Power Generation Model has been put into operation, while in the field of hydropower, the Huadian Zhiyu Model has been put into operation. In the field of wind and photovoltaic power, the Datang Weiluo Lingsi Model and the Huaneng Intelligent Early Warning System have also been put into operation. The large-scale model of the power generation industry has established an intelligent empowerment pattern for all categories and processes, continuously improving energy supply capacity and clean energy consumption level.Editor/Gao Xue
