After the opening of summer transport in 2026, the cross-border travel of China Laos railway will increase significantly. According to the data of Kunming Railway Bureau of the State Railway, since the start of the summer transport on July 1, 53.2 bullet trains have been running daily from Kunming to Xishuangbanna, 649000 passengers have been sent by the domestic section of the China Laos Railway, and more than 11000 passengers have entered and exited Mohan Port. In response to the diverse summer passenger flow, the railway department has optimized its service system, providing trilingual services at stations such as Pu'er and Xishuangbanna, and adding key passenger service facilities to comprehensively enhance the travel experience of tourists. Chinese and foreign tourists are taking trains to immerse themselves in the natural scenery and cultural customs along the China Laos railway line.

Upgrading customs clearance services

Faced with the surge in cross-border passenger flow, Mohan Border Inspection Station has upgraded its customs clearance measures, implemented passenger classification and sorting, team appointment clearance mode, and activated intelligent inspection equipment to compress the entire international train clearance time to about 50 minutes. The port continues to improve its supporting services, adding convenient services such as overseas telecom card sales and foreign currency withdrawals, effectively reducing the threshold for cross-border travel.
