Relying on the abundant scenic resources in Hami, a large-scale new chemical project is about to be implemented locally. Xinjiang Tiankelong Chemical has laid out a green hydrogen and coal chemical coupling production line, investing over 6.1 billion yuan to build green grass amide and slow-release fertilizer production capacity. After obtaining environmental impact assessment approval, the project is steadily advancing, opening up new directions for the integrated development of the energy industry in Xinjiang.

Project Overview

The project is located in the southern circular economy industrial park of Hami Industrial Park, with a total investment of 6167818800 yuan, covering an area of 51.024 hectares, and an environmental protection investment of 359.18 million yuan, accounting for 5.82% of the total investment. The project obtained environmental impact assessment approval in March 2026 and is currently in the implementation and promotion stage. The project plans to produce 62000 tons of green hydrogen, 500000 tons of green grass amide, and 800000 tons of organic high-efficiency slow-release fertilizer annually. The factory area will be equipped with core production facilities such as gasification, hydrogen production, and synthesis processing, as well as various raw material and finished product storage facilities, office and living facilities, and environmental protection management facilities.

Green coupling process

The project adopts an innovative technology route of deep coupling between coal chemical industry and green hydrogen, producing synthesis gas through dry coal powder gasification, purifying and deep cryogenic separation to obtain carbon monoxide, which is used to produce dimethyl oxalate and further process green oxamide. The project relies on the abundant wind and solar power resources in Hami to carry out hydrogen production through water electrolysis, realizing the empowerment of chemical production with clean energy. The finished product of oxamide is directly exported, and the remaining part is compounded with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers to produce organic high-efficiency slow-release fertilizers.
