When Nvidia's chips meet the infrastructure background of Chinese companies, this hot land attempts to fill the gap in AI training in the cloud, allowing green energy to continuously supply power for the digital future.
Establishing a national level AI computing power platform
On July 28, 2026, the Kenyan Ministry of Communications and Digital Technology, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, plans to build a national level AI computing platform at the Technology City Management Bureau, equipped with NVIDIA GPUs, to serve universities, science and technology innovation enterprises, and green technology centers. The project is divided into two major opportunities: computing hardware and supporting industrial chain. Specific parameters have not been disclosed yet. The core focus is on the tripartite construction model, local computing power construction needs, and the entry path of Chinese enterprises' supporting industries.

Kenya aims to rely on this platform to fill the gaps in local AI training and testing capabilities, while overseas computing power can only be used for short-term emergencies. The project is still in the early stages of preparation, and the subsequent technical specifications and bidding announcements are the key to determining the order. After the implementation of computing equipment, power supply and maintenance will become the focus of operation.
The existing digital base is complete
Kenya will introduce the AI development strategy in 2025. It plans to upgrade the AI data center and high-speed Internet in three years. In July 2026, it will also collect new technology policy opinions. The Technology City Authority is the implementation carrier of the strategy, and the platform operation needs to solve the issues of authority, cost, data classification, etc. The local Konza Level 3 data center has been deployed on Huawei Cloud Base, providing dual power supply, fiber optic, cloud hosting and other services to over 200 customers. The addition of Nvidia computing power integration will generate system compatibility upgrade requirements; In the country's cloud expansion PPP project, the AI computing power cluster is an independent procurement sector, and the underlying infrastructure can be shared.

Chinese enterprises focus on supporting and green applications
Nvidia has been selected as the core GPU for the project, and domestic acceleration cards are difficult to penetrate into the core layer. However, there is a vast market space for supporting services such as computer room power distribution, cooling, networking, storage, and operation and maintenance training.
