On August 3rd, Wang Jianbo, Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration of China, met with South African Minister of Electricity and Energy, Lothianzo Ramohampa, in Beijing to exchange views on promoting energy cooperation between China and South Africa.

Wang Jianbo said that energy is a key area of cooperation between the two countries. China is willing to work with South Africa to make good use of the existing intergovernmental cooperation mechanism and jointly build cooperation platforms such as the "the Belt and Road" and the BRICS, strengthen cooperation and exchanges around key areas such as energy planning, clean energy, power grids, and technological innovation, and constantly improve the level of energy cooperation between China and South Africa.

Lamohampa stated that South Africa's Comprehensive Resource Plan 2025 has been officially implemented, and new energy is a key focus of South Africa's future development. China's new energy industry system is complete, and South Africa is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in areas such as energy policy, energy planning, project investment, and technology exchange.

Comrades from the Science and Technology Department, Power Department, New Energy Department, and International Department of the National Energy Administration of China attended the meeting.
