The arrival of these "giants" not only gives Port Klang West Malaysia the largest pure electric truck fleet in Malaysia, but also marks a new milestone for ASEAN ports in the wave of smart and green transformation.

The expansion of Jugang is at the right time
As a key node connecting East Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Port Klang West is incredibly busy. The latest data from the Malaysian Ministry of Transport shows that the container throughput of the port has reached 11.33 million TEUs by 2025, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%. Faced with the continuous growth of transshipment cargo volume, West Port is vigorously promoting a 39.6 billion ringgit expansion plan, which will add 4.8 kilometers of dock shoreline in the future, increasing the annual throughput capacity from 14 million TEUs to 27 million TEUs. However, the expansion of business territory has also brought dual pressures of operating costs and carbon emissions. In this context, introducing new energy fleets with low energy consumption and zero emissions characteristics has become an inevitable choice for ports to improve financial performance and maintain competitiveness.
Replacing the battery to ensure smooth operation
Every minute counts in port operations, and traditional charging modes often struggle to match the 24-hour continuous rotation rhythm. The core advantage of the Xijing E-Truck introduced this time is that it is equipped with a PowerOnair intelligent battery swapping station. In the simulation task, the vehicle can complete the fully unmanned battery replacement in just 5 minutes, which is as convenient as replacing the battery of a mobile phone, effectively ensuring the uninterrupted operation of dock operations. In addition, in view of the harsh environment of Klang West Port, which is characterized by high temperature, humid heat, frequent rainstorm and high salt fog near the sea, these heavy trucks have been treated with special anti-corrosion and salt fog prevention before leaving the factory to ensure stable attendance in extreme weather and significantly reduce the risk of downtime caused by equipment failure.

Set a benchmark for green transformation
As a port operator that has won numerous ESG awards, Xigang's "big move" this time is not only an equipment update, but also a key milestone in its deep cultivation of solar energy and fleet electrification strategies. With these vehicles expected to be put into operation by the end of August, the efficiency of dock operations will be significantly improved, while effectively hedging against cost fluctuations caused by high oil prices. More importantly, an electrified cab will significantly reduce noise and vibration, improving driver comfort and occupational health levels.
