Recently, on the vast plateau of Mexico, a transportation artery connecting multiple important cities is quietly unfolding. With the release of a notice by the Mexican Railway and Comprehensive Public Transport Agency, the bidding for the design and construction of the San Miguel de Allende Reyes passenger railway has officially begun. This 82 kilometer long steel dragon not only carries the local people's expectations for efficient travel, but also attracts the attention of enterprises from China, Switzerland, and Mexico.

Eight strong competition for exploration site

In the first on-site exploration list, eight companies appeared on the same stage. Except for China Communications Construction Mexico Company and Swiss Holcim Mexico Company, the other six seats are firmly held by local Mexican companies, including Calzada Constructiones, ICA Constructora, VISE, GP Constructucci ó n, RECSA, and Provedora de Materiales del Norte.

This exploration is not just a simple on-site survey, but more like a warm-up before the game. Most of the participating companies have left footprints in the construction of passenger railways in Mexico. VISE and RECSA, the old partners, have long undertaken railway projects in the form of a consortium, and have included the design and construction of four stations on the Saltillo Nuevo Laredo railway. ICA Constructora is one of the main contractors for this line, having won the 100 kilometer mainline and 37.5-kilometer section through the Monterey metropolitan area. Its resume also shines with the brilliance of the Mexico City Metro and Maya Railway Section 4. The consortium formed by Calzada Construcciones and Provedora de Materiales del Norte has also won the bid for the six station project of the Saltillo Nuevo Laredo railway, and its strength cannot be underestimated.

In contrast, Holcim Mexico, a Swiss company, is more well-known for its role as a building materials supplier. Previously, it provided ready mixed concrete for the Maya Railway and has not yet won the railway section as a general contractor for construction. GP Construcci ó n is the only new face on the list that currently has no record of a passenger railway project in Mexico. And CCCC Mexico has also partnered with Portugal's Mota Engil to participate in the construction of the first section of the Maya Railway, accumulating valuable local project experience.

82 kilometer steel corridor

The San Miguel de Allende Reyes section of this tender is the second sub section of the Cretaro San Luis Potosi section of the Cretaro Saltillo passenger railway corridor. The 82 kilometer journey is not a smooth road, and the bidding scope covers a series of complex projects such as elevated bridges, tunnels, railway bridges, underpasses, overpasses, and pedestrian bridges, which puts extremely high demands on the comprehensive technical strength of the construction party.

According to the official schedule, this section is expected to officially open in October this year. For CCCC Mexico, if it can successfully break through, it not only means winning another key position in the Mexican market, but also adding new footnotes to China's infrastructure going global. For local Mexican companies, safeguarding their home advantage and continuing the good momentum in projects such as the Saltillo Nuevo Laredo railway are also inevitable.

The follow-up sections are ready to take off

The bid opening of the San Miguel de Allende Reyes section is only the prelude to the construction of this grand corridor. In the future, multiple key sections will be tendered, including the Reyes City San Luis Potosi Industrial Section, which is approximately 45.5 kilometers long; The Saint Louis Potosi Industrial Zone - Saint Louis Potosi Center section will have two elevated stations; And the San Luis Potosi Center San Luis Potosi Northwest Station section.keywords:Infrastructure News

These sections are like a puzzle, together forming the complete picture of the Kretaro Saltillo passenger railway corridor. With the gradual progress of bidding work, the modernization process of Mexico's railway network is steadily advancing. For global infrastructure companies, the opportunities and challenges on this land have just begun.Editor/Yang Meiling
