Next to the westernmost land port in China, the international commercial logistics port project with a total investment of nearly 520 million yuan has officially laid the foundation. This 17.21 hectare park will push the Irkeshtam Port from a traditional customs clearance node to a more complete cross-border logistics hub system.

Port function upgrade

The project will implement customs 1039 market procurement and trade supporting services, creating a modern cross-border logistics hub that integrates intelligent warehousing, one-stop customs clearance, centralized procurement, distribution, and comprehensive supporting facilities. It will fill the gaps in port logistics facilities, smooth the two-way economic and trade channels between China and Central Asia, adapt to the development of China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan railway intermodal transportation, and further enhance the gateway function of opening up southern Xinjiang to the west. Improved clearance efficiency

The Irkeshtam Port is an important land hub connecting China and Kyrgyzstan, as well as a key passage radiating to Central Asia. On June 1, 2025, the port launched a trial of 7 × 24-hour freight clearance, becoming the first road port in China to open all-weather freight clearance for Kyrgyzstan and the first road port in southern Xinjiang to achieve full time freight clearance.
