On the construction site of Oxagon Industrial City along the Red Sea coast, the first engineering equipment has officially started operation. The first 100MW project of a 360MW AI data center jointly developed by Saudi based super large scale data center developer DataVolt and Saudi public investment fund AI company HUMAIN was officially announced to start construction during the LEAP 2026 Technology Summit. Saudi Arabia's previously announced plan for a 1.5GW net zero carbon AI factory park at the LEAP 2025 Summit has been transformed from a blueprint to a physical project.

The first phase of the 360MW computing power park has started construction

The project is located in Oxagon Industrial City on the Red Sea coast of NEOM New Future City. The first phase of the 100MW computing power facility is expected to be officially put into operation in 2028 and is a core component of the 360MW overall project. The new facility will deeply integrate renewable energy, innovative liquid cooling technology, and high-performance computing clusters, fully supporting large-scale AI and cloud computing workloads.

Relying on Oxagon's mature industrial supporting conditions, the project can directly connect to large-scale renewable energy networks, and achieve ultra-low latency computing access with the help of submarine cables directly connecting Europe and Africa. The entire process from power supply, engineering design to construction and operation adopts refined execution standards, creating world-class digital infrastructure production capacity.

Saudi Arabia's AI infrastructure race accelerates

This cooperation deeply combines Saudi Arabia's top AI software capabilities with the delivery capabilities of ultra large scale data centers, connecting the complete link from physical data center capacity to real-time deployment of AI computing power, and accurately matching the high-density infrastructure needs of the global AI computing boom period. According to Mordor Intelligence's latest forecast, the Saudi data center market size will grow from $2.38 billion in 2026 to $4.35 billion in 2031, with a compound annual growth rate of 12.84%. The advancement of this project will further solidify Oxagon's core advantage as a global hub for AI infrastructure value, and lay a solid foundation for the long-term growth of Saudi Arabia's digital economy in terms of computing power.Editor/Cheng Liting
