Since 2026, China has accelerated the opening and sharing of public data, strengthened data supply around various application scenarios, and promoted high-quality data to empower thousands of industries. As we enter the centralized construction period of wind power, this onshore wind farm in Shandong needs to add dozens of large wind turbines, and a key factor in planning and site selection is to have a clear understanding of the situation.

In the past, some public data could not be directly shared due to containing secure and sensitive information. In 2026, the country will accelerate the pilot implementation of six new technologies to ensure data security, and further introduce specialized forces for data governance. As of now, 150 public data have been launched at the national level, and demonstration scenarios have been released one after another, covering multiple fields such as meteorological services, transportation, and medical health.

At the same time, cross departmental and cross industry data silos are also being rapidly broken. On the main waterway of the Yangtze River, public data from more than ten departments such as ports, maritime affairs, and hydrology are now gathered together through a unified interface. The pace of data interconnection is accelerating. At present, the national integrated government data sharing hub has supported the sharing and retrieval of data by various regions and departments over 550 billion times, helping to efficiently accomplish tasks and other government scenarios.Editor/Gong Ziwei
