The total length of 750 kV ultra-high voltage transmission lines in Xinjiang has exceeded 15000 kilometers, covering an area of about 1.6 million square kilometers, greatly improving the clean power transmission capacity of Xinjiang. As of August 27, 2026, the total length of 750 kV ultra-high voltage transmission lines in Xinjiang exceeds 15000 kilometers, and the largest ultra-high voltage power backbone network in the country has been built.

With the smooth operation of the 750 kV transmission project in Kashgar, Xinjiang, the total length of the 750 kV ultra-high voltage power grid in Xinjiang has reached 15030.05 kilometers, and the largest ultra-high voltage power backbone network in the country has been built, covering an area of about 1.6 million square kilometers. Cai Pengcheng, Deputy Director of the Control Department of State Grid Xinjiang Power Dispatching and Control Center, said, "This backbone power grid not only achieves stable local power supply in Xinjiang, but also builds a national level 'West East Power Transmission' channel. With this network framework, Xinjiang's clean power transmission capacity across provinces continues to lead the country

As of the end of July 2026, the cumulative amount of electricity transmitted from Xinjiang has exceeded 1105.8 billion kilowatt hours, reaching 23 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country, providing strong support for peak electricity supply in the central and eastern regions. During the 15th Five Year Plan period, Xinjiang will continue to accelerate the construction of the power grid. It is expected that by 2030, the "Xinjiang Electricity Transmission" capacity will reach 60 million kilowatts, laying a solid foundation for ensuring the supply of energy and electricity nationwide, as well as the large-scale development and efficient consumption of new energy in Xinjiang.Editor/Gong Ziwei
