The long wind of the desert, the ancient wilderness, a new energy artery spanning thousands of miles is about to rise in Ordos, turning the magnificent sand sea scenery into green kinetic energy that illuminates the Jianghuai region.

On October 13, 2026, the National Energy Group issued a bidding announcement to solicit overall implementation plans and feasibility study report preparation services for the Inner Mongolia Integrated Energy and Inner Mongolia Electric Power's entry into Anhui New Energy Base. The Inner Mongolia Desert Base Power Transmission Anhui Supporting Power Project is located in Ordos City, with a planned total installed capacity of 15.14 million kilowatts.

The project includes 2.64 million kilowatts of coal-fired power, 4.5 million kilowatts of wind power, 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power, and 4.25 million kilowatts of 2-hour electrochemical energy storage. The clean power of the base relies on a ± 800 kV high-voltage DC channel and is all sent to Anhui for consumption.Editor/Gong Ziwei
