The lights of the ancient city of Samarkand in Central Asia are about to usher in an energy transformation that spans thirty years. When the technical team of Türkiye enterprises went deep into the local streets and alleys to complete the power grid investigation, the overall upgrading of the distribution network of this important Silk Road town officially opened.

The energy infrastructure in Samarkand Oblast has undergone significant upgrades. Recently, the governor of Samarkand, Adiz Boboyev, held a special meeting with representatives of Aksa Enerji, the winner of international bidding and Türkiye's energy enterprise, to finalize large-scale energy cooperation projects. In the next 30 years, this Türkiye enterprise will invest 1 billion dollars in the energy infrastructure of Samarkand, comprehensively transform the local distribution network, and optimize the regional power supply system.

Full cycle integrated transformation

This cooperation is the largest long-term upgrade project in the energy sector of Samarkand state, covering the entire lifecycle services of the power grid, including overall planning, capital investment, engineering construction, operation management, and technical operation and maintenance of the low-voltage power grid, achieving integrated and systematic transformation. The pre project preparation work has been smoothly advanced. Türkiye's technical team has completed the investigation and assessment of the core power grid section in Samarkand, found out the existing weak links in the power grid, and prepared 440 special transformation plans to lay a solid foundation for the implementation of the project.

Promote hardware updates for the power grid

According to the overall plan, the entire state will implement large-scale power grid updates. The project will replace 1000 old transformers, eliminate outdated poles and power supply lines with safety hazards, and solve problems such as power grid aging and unstable power supply from the hardware level. The project team simultaneously conducted research on the procurement of mobile generators and operation and maintenance equipment, filled in the gaps in power supply guarantee equipment, and enhanced emergency power supply capabilities.

In response to the upcoming peak electricity consumption in autumn and winter, this meeting will focus on arranging winter power supply related work. Governor Adiz Boboyev proposed that reliable power supply in winter is related to the daily lives of the people and is an important livelihood work. The local government will accelerate the construction of power grid renovation, seize favorable construction periods, continuously track project progress, coordinate and resolve various construction difficulties, and ensure residents' safety during the winter. Empowering the long-term development of the region

After completion, the project will bring multiple benefits, reducing power outages, lowering transmission losses, and reducing carbon emissions in the power industry. It can not only improve the security and stability of power supply in Samarkand, ensure people's livelihood and support industrial development, but also help the local green and low-carbon transformation, and continue to provide energy support for regional high-quality development. It is a vivid practice of energy connectivity under the framework of jointly building the the Belt and Road.Editor/Gong Ziwei
