On the edge of Ulan Buh and the desert, where the Yellow River has a "zigzag" shape, the foundation drilling machines for two energy storage projects have been synchronously launched in Erdenbulag Sumu, Urad Front Banner. Two independent energy storage power stations on the grid side with a total capacity of 3.2 million kilowatt hours have officially started construction.
As the supporting core projects of the Yellow River Jiziwan Clean Energy Base, the two power stations will be connected to the grid before the end of the year, filling the key peak shaving gap for the wind and solar power consumption and computing coordination of the Mengxi power grid. The total investment of the two projects is 1.584 billion yuan, invested and constructed by Inner Mongolia Huijin Energy Storage Technology and Banang (Inner Mongolia) Energy Storage Technology, both of which operate in an independent energy storage mode on the grid side.

Simultaneous implementation of dual projects
Among the two projects under construction this time, the Huijin Energy Storage 200000 kW/800000 kWh Demonstration Project has a total investment of 636 million yuan, covers an area of 75 acres, and is equipped with 160 5-megawatt hour energy storage containers; The total investment of the Baoneng Energy Storage 300 MW/1200 MWh project is 948 million yuan, covering an area of 135 acres. A new 220 kV booster station will be built, with an annual charging and discharging frequency of up to 320 times.
Both power stations are connected to the Wulashan 500 kV substation through a 220 kV line, and the construction pace is advancing synchronously. All projects will be completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2026.
Anchor a few curved bases
Urad Front Banner is located in the core area of the Yellow River Jiziwan Clean Energy Base. By 2026, the local wind and solar grid connected installed capacity has exceeded 12 million kilowatts, and the high proportion of new energy integration has continued to increase the demand for peak shaving in the power grid. After the two independent energy storage power stations are put into operation, they can output 20 million kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, bringing about 10 million yuan in tax revenue and 200 million yuan in output value to the local area. This will directly enhance the short-term peak shaving and frequency regulation capabilities of the Mengxi power grid, and provide stable power regulation support for the green electricity consumption of surrounding wind and solar power bases and the subsequent implementation of the computing power center's computing power coordination project.
