The wind and light at the northern foot of Yinshan are being woven into a green bond leading to a zero carbon future. The largest green hydrogen project under construction in China is located in Damao Banner, Inner Mongolia. China Energy Engineering Corporation and Tianjin Electric Power Construction are advancing into the grasslands, injecting zero carbon new energy into high energy consuming industries in North China through integrated wind solar hydrogen production projects.

Winning the bid for a heavyweight project
Recently, China Energy Engineering Tianjin Power Construction successfully won the second bid of the largest green hydrogen project under construction in China - the 1 million kilowatt wind solar hydrogen integrated PC project in Damao Banner, Inner Mongolia Huadian.
The project has a grand scale
The project is located in Damao Banner, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, and is a key support project for the national West East Hydrogen Transmission Strategy. The first phase of the project plans to install 1 million kilowatts of new energy, including 700000 kilowatts of wind power and 300000 kilowatts of photovoltaics. At the same time, supporting facilities such as a 100 MW/200 MW lithium iron phosphate energy storage power station, two 220 kV booster stations, collection lines, and access roads will be constructed. The hydrogen production sector is equipped with multiple specifications of alkaline electrolysis cell equipment, totaling 83 units of 1000 standard cubic meters per hour, 1 unit of 2000 standard cubic meters per hour, and 1 unit of 3000 standard cubic meters per hour hydrogen production equipment, with an annual output of 47000 tons of green hydrogen. The hydrogen storage process is equipped with 25 2000 cubic meter hydrogen gas spherical tanks, with a total hydrogen storage capacity of 650000 standard cubic meters, and supporting core facilities such as a 220 kV hydrogen production substation are also constructed.

Clear construction content
The scope of the project undertaken by Tianjin Electric Power Construction includes the construction of a 383 MW new energy power generation project, a complete hydrogen production station, and a 220 kV hydrogen production substation. Specifically, it includes 250 MW wind power, 133 MW photovoltaic projects, and the overall construction of the hydrogen production station. The project relies on high-quality local wind and solar new energy resources, adopts the core process of green electricity electrolysis for hydrogen production, and creates a new model of wind solar energy storage coupled hydrogen production and on-site consumption of new energy. It builds a complete green hydrogen industry chain that integrates production, storage, transportation, and use, and relies on pipeline networks to achieve green hydrogen export, ensuring hydrogen energy supply in the eastern region. After completion, the project will become a core green hydrogen supply base in North China, providing zero carbon green hydrogen raw materials for high energy consuming industries such as rare earths and steel, and helping the industrial sector to achieve low-carbon transformation.
